Caregiver Homes holds Lynn open house

LYNN – Caregiver Homes, which delivers training, support and financial assistance to family caregivers through its model Structured Family Caregiving, received a warm welcome from the Lynn community at its open house earlier this month. Roughly 50 people from the community welcomed Caregiver Homes to the neighborhood at its Liberty Street location. The event featured a ribbon cutting provided by the Lynn Chamber of Commerce, raffle drawing, and congressional citation from Rep. John Tierney.Massachusetts State Director Kelly Magee welcomed guests, specifically a Caregiver Homes caregiver and consumer ?Mayra Ruiz and her father Max Saravia. “You are the heart of what we do, and we are honored and humbled to serve you.””I’m so very thankful this program is available,” said Ruiz, daughter and caregiver to her father. She has been receiving training and support from the Caregiver Homes program for more than six months. “I’m so glad you are helping me care for, and be with, my daddy.”Caregiver Homes works within local communities to provide a quality model of care, and the new Lynn branch location will help connect more families and professionals to this person-centered option.”We are very excited to be opening our Lynn branch where we will continue to work with our community partners and support families who are doing the most important work of caring for their loved ones at home,” said Pam Arseneau, Caregiver Homes branch manager for the North Shore and Lynn. “Now with our new Lynn branch, we are a part of the fabric of a wonderfully diverse city.”Caregiver Homes provides a unique, long-term care service model called Structured Family Caregiving (SFC), recognized in Connecticut as Adult Family Living, Indiana as Structured Family Caregiving, Ohio as Adult Family Living, in Massachusetts as Enhanced Adult Foster Care, and RIte @ Home in Rhode Island.The organization, a wholly owned subsidiary of Boston-based Seniorlink, Inc. is dedicated to helping elders with complex medical conditions and people with disabilities live with dignity and independence in their communities.Caregiver Homes employs highly qualified professionals and specially designed communication technology to empower family and community members to provide extremely effective, high-quality care at home while being paid for their commitment.
