Hoffman to host all-star high school sports night June 4

The eighth annual TV15 all-star sports night will be held Wednesday, June 4, at Breed Middle School beginning at 6 p.m.As in the past, the Lynn cable station will award trophies to all-stars it has selected in multiple sports over the course of the school year. The event is hosted by TV15 broadcaster/personality John Hoffman, with the trophies donated by Harrington Trophy Co. of Lynn, and the post-show buffet donated by John?s Roast Beef and proprietor Taso Nikolakopoulos.Hoffman has been broadcasting games in the Lynn area for 30 years. His brother, the late Charles A. “Red” Hoffman, was sports editor and executive sports editor of The Item from 1973 until his death in 1985.Both Harrington and Nikolakopoulos were athletes in high school, for English and St. Mary?s respectively. Both have donated to this — and other — events annually.The public is invited to view the show, which will be broadcast from the Breed auditorium.
