LYNN – The American Legion is to hold a worn flag retirement ceremony on Flag Day, this Saturday, at 10 a.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn in the field area adjacent to the Vietnam and Korean War section of the cemetery, just beyond the WWII section. Visitors can reach the area by entering the main gate of the cemetery and staying to the left on the road, or by entering the Parkland Avenue entrance and staying to the right.American Legion Post 345 Commander Jack Marino will preside the ceremony assisted by Adjunct Peter Lanzilotti. Legionnaire David J. Solimine Sr. will conduct the services. Assistance will be provided by the Lynn English ROTC cadets, USMC, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. Taps will be played by trumpeter Jack Simpson. Security and protection will be provided by the Lynn Fire Department.All are welcome to join the ceremonies.
