LYNN – Police said a local motorcyclist was hospitalized after neighbors said two racing cars appeared to force the cyclist into a utility pole on North Franklin Street.”They caused a lot of chaos,” witness Stacey Tobin said at the scene.Police and fire officials responded shortly before noon to outside 67 North Franklin St., just before the intersection of Forest Street and Forest Hill Avenue. Paramedics at the scene tended to a man lying in a pathway just beyond a brick and cement retaining wall, while police redirected traffic past the scene.Witness Renee Liberge said that two cars – a woman in a silver car and a person in a black sedan – were chasing each other around the block, circling at least twice. The cars came up behind the motorcycle and reportedly forced it into the pole, the witnesses said. The cars then allegedly fled down Forest Street.Lynn Police Lt. Lucas Dean said a 23-year-old city man was taken to Salem Hospital with non life-threatening injuries and police did not locate the other vehicles allegedly involved.
