Parks and playgroundsThe following parks will be supervised July 7 through Aug. 8; Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. and Fridays 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.:Barry Park, (Boston Street between Laurel and Cottage Street); Clark Street Playground, (Clark Street at end of Eastern Avenue); Flax Pond Playground, (Chestnut Street between Pond Street and Carter Road); Gallagher Park Playground, (Ontario Street, Linwood Street, Hurd Street); Gowdy Park, (Cedarbrook Road Between Tuscan Road and Maple Valley); Hood Park, (Between Winnepurkit and Rollins); Keaney Park, (Memorial Park Avenue behind Lynn English High School); Kiley Playground, (Sanderson Avenue at the end of Chatham Street); Lynnwoods Playground, (Great Falls Road at end of Lynnfield Street); Neptune Boulevard Playground, (Commercial Street)Park instructors will provide the following activities during the five-week program: field trips, special events, wiffleball games, arts & crafts, sports activities, entertainment and more. Lunch will be provided during park hours. The Parks Program is available for children 6 years or older. No child is required to remain at the park and park instructors do not provide individual day care or supervision. On rainy days, the park instructors will be at the designated schools.
Sports ClinicsYouth Tennis Clinic: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, July 7-30 at Gowdy Park: Ages 8 & under 5-6 p.m.; ages 9-11, 6-7 p.m.; ages 12 & older, 7-8 p.m.Junior Golf Program: (Five weeks), Gannon Municipal Golf Course, Monday July 7, 14, 21, 28 and Aug. 4, 8-9 a.m. This is a free clinic and there is no registration or specific age limit for children.Basketball Clinic: Ages 10 & older, Mondays-Thursdays, July 7-31 at Gowdy Park, 3-5 p.m.Pee Wee Basketball Clinic: Ages 6-11, July 7- Aug. 2 at Flax Pond Basketball Courts. Mondays & Tuesdays 6-7:30 p.m.; Saturdays 9:30-11 a.m. The cost is $15.Summer Evening Basketball Program: Monday-Thursday, July 7-31, at 5 p.m. West Lynn Mondays & Tuesdays at Gallagher Park, East Lynn Wednesdays & Thursdays at Keaney Park.Youth Summer Track: ages 4-18, June 3, 10, 16, July 22, 29, Aug. 5, 12, 19 at Manning Field track, Locust St., 6:15 p.m.Adult Summer Track: ages 18 and up, June 2, 9, 13; July 14, 18, 21, 28; Aug. 4, 11, 15, 18 at Manning Field track, Locust Street, 6:15 p.m.
