Ian Thimble (George Wright GC) watched his final putt on the third playoff hole jump off the back liner and then disappear. What happened in mere seconds probably felt like a year but the result was the same. Thimble had won the 105th Massachusetts Open (71-67-73 for 211). It was his first career MGA championship and first victory since turning pro last fall. He outlasted Kyle Gallo (Kensington, Conn.), Eric Dugas (Brewster) and amateur Matt Parziale (Thorny Lea GC) in a three-hole aggregate playoff.Swampscott?s Steven Dilisio finished in a tie for 45th with a 71-77-73.
