LYNN – A judge ordered $5,000 cash bail for a city man in whose Lynnway apartment police reported finding approximately 27 grams of heroin. Police said the investigation and arrest was in response to resident complaints of drug activity.Nicson Prince, 24, of 69 Lynnway #42, was arrested and charged with trafficking in heroin; and distribution of Class A drugs; at 11:48 a.m. Wednesday. He was arraigned on the charges Thursday in Lynn District Court where a plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf.Police reported receiving multiple complaints of drugs being sold from 69 and 63 Lynnway and set up surveillance of the 69 Lynnway address on Wednesday, Lynn Police Officer Michael Tortorise wrote in a report. Officers reported watching a suspected drug deal involving Prince and a blond man, and an officer pulled over the blond man after he allegedly pulled away from the curb without signaling. Police said the blond man was shaking uncontrollably and handed over three bags of heroin he said he bought for $100 from a black man at 69 Lynnway.Other officers subsequently stopped Prince who at first said he lived on Allen Avenue and didn’t know the blond man, police reported. But Prince admitted the blond man’s number would be in his phone, and the property management at the Lynnway building confirmed Prince had rented an apartment, police said. Prince then admitted selling the blond man a gram of heroin for $100, and he allowed police to search the Lynnway apartment, police reported.Police reported recovering approximately 27 grams of heroin in the bedroom of the apartment and drug-packaging paraphernalia in the apartment’s oven. Police noted the majority of the drugs were individually packaged in bags colored in with black magic marker, which was packaging “unique” to officers.Police also reported seizing a gun from a man who was asleep at the apartment. The man showed officers a gun license from Florida, but he said he had moved to the area six months prior and had not yet gotten a Massachusetts gun license.Judge Matthew Nestor ordered Prince held on $5,000 cash bail and to return to court July 24, according to court documents.
