A Lynn woman and a Revere woman were ordered held on $5,000 cash and $1,000 cash bail, respectively, after allegedly trying to rob an 83-year-old woman at a Revere convenience store Friday.?When the victim refused to give them money, they attempted to take her pocketbook,” Revere Police Lt. Amy O’Hara wrote in a press release Monday. “During the assault, the victim fell to the ground and suffered an injury to her shoulder.”Brittney Ross, 24, of Lynn, and Amanda McManus, 29, of Revere, each pleaded not guilty to charges of unarmed robbery on a person over 60; unarmed assault to rob; and assault and battery on a person over 60 with injury; at their arraignment in Chelsea District Court.Police responded to the report of an unarmed robbery at the One Stop Convenience store on Revere Street Friday, according to the press release. Police said the elderly woman was leaving the store when she was approached by the two women who asked the alleged victim for money. A struggle ensued and the two suspects fled, unable to get the pocketbook, police said. Police arrested Ross and McManus approximately an hour later based on witness statements and evidence.Ross was ordered held on $5,000 cash bail, and McManus on $1,000 cash bail and both are scheduled to return to court June 19.
