Pats announce training camp dates

FOXBOROUGH – The Patriots will report to training camp in just under a month and will kick off the 2014 preseason at Washington against the Redskins on Thursday, Aug. 7.This year marks the 55th annual training camp for the Patriots, including their 12th consecutive camp at Gillette Stadium. Veterans will report to camp on Wednesday, July 23. The following day, the Patriots are scheduled for their first training camp practice on Thursday, July 24 at 9:15 a.m. on the fields located behind Gillette Stadium. The daily practice sessions are free and open to the public. The Patriots will practice once daily and have confirmed that they will be conducting practices beginning at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 24 through Sunday, July 27. As dates and times for training camp are confirmed, they will be updated on the Patriots website, www.patriots.com/trainingcamp.The Patriots also confirmed that they will be hosting joint practice sessions with the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday, Aug. 12 and Wednesday, Aug. 13 prior to their preseason home opener on Friday, Aug. 15. The joint practices are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. each day.The practice schedule throughout training camp is tentative and subject to change. Fans and media who plan to attend practices are encouraged to check the Patriots website for daily updates. Fans can also call the training camp hotline for updates by dialing (508) 549-0001.Patriots fans are also encouraged to attend the 2014 Patriots Hall of Fame Induction for Ty Law on Friday, Aug. 1 at 4:30 p.m. The ceremony is free and open to the public and is held on the plaza just outside The Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon. Following the induction, the Patriots will host their annual in-stadium practice for Season Ticket Members at Gillette Stadium at 7 p.m.
