The Western Division-leading Worcester Bravehearts came to Fraser Field on Sunday afternoon to face the North Shore Navigators. North Shore was coming off an extra-inning win on Saturday night against Nashua. Matt Rodriguez (West Florida) pitched very well and helped the Navigators secure a 6-3 win.Worcester opened up the scoring in the top of the third inning. Dylan Harris (St. Leo) singled to score Darian Ramage (St. Mary?s) and give the Bravehearts a 1-0 lead. That lead wouldn?t last long, however. In the bottom of the third, Matt Ramsay (Wofford) hit an RBI single and Nolan Fisher (Southeast Missouri State) came around to score to tie the game, 1-1.The tie would be broken in the bottom of the sixth when Omar Cuevas (St. Thomas Aquinas) flew out to left and Alex Burridge (Southeast Missouri State) tagged up from third to give the Navigators a 2-1 lead. The eighth inning proved to be the deciding moment in this game. Omar Cuevas hit a 2-RBI double to bring home Skyler Geissinger (SIUE) and Alex Burridge. Nolan Fisher then advanced on a fielder?s choice and Nic Lops (St. Joseph?s of Maine) scored. Stanley Susana (St. Thomas Aquinas) capped off the inning with an RBI infield single to make the score 6-1.Worcester scored twice in the top of the ninth but Mike Weisman (Columbia) was able to get the final outs for the victory.Matt Rodriguez picked up the win, going six strong innings, giving up just one run. Mike Flaherty (West Florida) pitched two scoreless innings in relief and Weisman finished things off.Ramsay, Burridge, and Cuevas all had two hits in the game. The team also amassed five walks. The next game for the Navigators is at home on Tuesday night against the Nashua Silver Knights.
