The Lynn Park Commission voted for trail improvements at the Lynn Woods Reservation on Tuesday.?I felt that it was a major accomplishment,” said Lynn Disability Commission member Nick Capano, who helped lead efforts to refurbish trails at Lynn Woods. The commission approved refurbishment of several trails beginning on July 19.Capano, who was born with spina bifida and moves in a wheelchair, visited the woods last year and had some difficulty with the trails. He has been one of several Disability Commission members who have explored the issue of improving the conditions of several trails so that individuals who are handicapped can use them.Capano said that those who could benefit from refurbished trails included the disabled, people with children and strollers, runners and people with hand-propelled bicycles.Fellow commission member Michael Cerulli praised the efforts of both Capano and park ranger Dan Small.Capano?s father, attorney Mario Capano, said that Small “informed the Park Commission that material, labor and equipment are being provided by a reputable, well-known general contractor who wished to remain anonymous.”Mario Capano added, “We got a call in to the general contractor to fit out the schedule. We?re hoping the last week of July, or the first and/or second week in August.?The work will take a couple of Saturdays. At least, that?s the estimated time. We?re looking for volunteers.”
