NAHANT ? A body was spotted in the water not far from a drifting fishing boat off Nahant.
According to Coast Guard Petty Officer Myeonghi Clegg, a kayaker spotted a 17-foot fishing vessel adrift between Nahant and Egg Rock. The kayaker reported it to people on shore nearby, who then reported it to the Nahant harbormaster.
A man was brought to shore and driven away in an ambulance. His identity and current medical condition are unknown.Clegg said the Coast Guard launched a 25-response boat from Point Allerton and a helicopter from Air Station Cape Cod. Clegg said the boat was “found adrift with engines down, but in gear” and she could not comment on what caused the problem.
