LYNN – A city man was held on a total of $35,000 cash bail on two cases Wednesday after police allegedly arranged several undercover heroin deals with the defendant this winter and then found suspected heroin in the man’s apartment when arresting him on a warrant.Isai Colon, 29, of 63 Whiting St. #3, was arrested and charged in two cases with two counts of possession with intent to distribute Class A drugs, subsequent offense; and trafficking heroin.Members of the Suffolk County Drug Force investigating a Revere man for drug dealing identified an “Izzy” who was also selling heroin in the area, according to a report by Trooper Gregg DesFosses.Police reportedly set up an undercover deal with Izzy for Jan. 17 outside 80 Chatham St. DesFosses reported buying two twists of suspected heroin for $120 and identifying Izzy as Colon.”(The defendant) stated to me that he had just gotten out of prison for drug charges and didn’t like doing ?this (drug deals) on the streets,'” DesFosses wrote in a report.Police set up another buy March 14. (This is referred to as the fourth buy in reports, but the second and third buys are not detailed in Essex Court reports. Police said those alleged buys happened in Revere and Chelsea). In this last exchange, a trooper paid $1,040 for 20 grams of heroin, according to reports.Police arrested Colon on a warrant at his home on June 18. Inside the home, police reported finding drug paraphernalia as well as suspected heroin, according to a report by Trooper Thomas Canning.Colon was brought to Chelsea District Court following his arrest and did not appear in Lynn District Court until Wednesday, where he entered a plea of not guilty to the charges.Essex Assistant District Attorney Andrew Boyd requested Colon be held on $100,000 cash bail for the trafficking and one possession-to-distribute-heroin charge. Boyd also requested $10,000 cash for the second charge of possession to distribute heroin and that Colon’s bail be revoked on prior cases out of East Boston and Chelsea.Judge Ellen Flatley ordered Colon held on $25,000 cash bail for the trafficking case and $10,000 cash for the second case. She denied motions to revoke Colon’s bail.Colon is scheduled to return to court Aug. 5.
