LYNN – Girls Inc. of Lynn has received a $224,000 grant from the Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation to use to educate the community about alcohol and marijuana prevention.Titled Project CHAMP, for Champions for Alcohol and Marijuana Prevention, the program will provide alcohol and marijuana prevention education to adults in the community who are connected with youth. Girls Inc. of Lynn will work with teachers, coaches, youth workers, parents, nurses and physicians in the Lynn community to help decrease the use of alcohol and marijuana among Lynn youth.In collaboration with the Communities that Care substance abuse prevention coalition in Lynn, this funding will also update and distribute the Linking Lynn Guide used to increase community members’ awareness of prevention resources. “We are very excited to be working with the Peter and Elizabeth C.
