Four local North Shore Tigers players were named to the New England Elite Baseball All-Star team after their team went 20-7-1 and took fifth place in the New England Championship this past weekend at Coe-Brown Academy in Northwood, N.H.A.J. Luciano, Brett Buckley and Lou Vidal of Lynn made the team along with Dominic Clark of Saugus. They?ll compete against other top U13 players in a nine-inning All-Star game on Sunday.Luciano, a shortstop, and Bucklin, a second baseman, turned 12 double plays this season. Luciano hit .393 with 13 doubles, two triples and he scored 41 runs. He was 4-2 on the mound. Bucklin played excellent defense and he hit .381 with 11 doubles, a triple, 39 stolen bases and 34 runs scored. He was 5-2 on the mound with two complete games.Vidal, who was clocked at 76 miles per hour in a Detroit Minor League stadium in Connecticut, had 63 strikeouts. He also had a .358 batting average with 10 doubles and 23 RBI.Clark led the Tigers in home runs with three, including a two-run poke that went 320 feet. He hit .377 with 31 RBI and 25 runs scored. He was 5-1 with 46 strikeouts.
