Police cite teenager following Lynnfield accident

LYNNFIELD ? A teenager was injured and cited for a marked-lanes violation after crashing through an overpass guardrail and falling into Route 1 North in Lynnfield Monday morning.?Initial reports indicate the vehicle, a 1998 Ford Mustang, was traveling Route 129, when for reasons still under investigation it crashed through a guardrail on an overpass, rolled over and came to rest on Route 1 northbound,” State Police said in a statement.The incident occurred at 6:50 a.m. Monday in Lynnfield.Police identified the driver as a 17-year-old male and said the victim was injured and taken to North Shore Medical Center in Lynn. The teen was later issued a motor vehicle citation for a marked-lanes violation. State Police do not identify juveniles by name.The accident temporarily closed the northbound travel lanes of the roadway.
