Finals approaching in Parks and Rec hoop

Action is heating up in the Lynn Parks and Recreation summer basketball program, with the finals a little more than a week away.Tuesday night, in the elementary school division, John?s Oil defeated Gannon Golf Course, 52-43, with Jeffrey Hill scoring 24 points for John?s, and Ali Barry netting 20 for Gannon. Also, Aaron Vizcaino hit 18 points to lead Old Neighborhood past Leahy, 50-41. Ghaziel Espinal had 18 for Leahy.In the middle school division, Dominic Jette and Alonzo Linton shared top honors with 17 points as Meninno Construction defeated Xtreme, 51-40. Game-high scorer was Eric Solis of Xtreme with 21. In the other game, Edison Howard?s 24 points led Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy?s team to a 52-44 win over Columbia Insurance. Natural Allen had 19 for Columbia.In high school action, Melvin Nieves had 17 points as Eastern Bank defeated Rick Ford, 95-83. Jonathan Mola had 23 for Ford?s team. Also, the Lynn City Council defeated the Lynn Housing Authority, 78-48. Jaylen Johnson had 23 for the winners; Tyler Ferragamo had 15 for the LHA.
