MARBLEHEAD ? Authorities have identified the diver who died Tuesday in an apparent drowning off Marblehead as Gregory Cole, 58, of Westfield.Cole was diving approximately two miles off of Marblehead harbor Tuesday. Foul play is not suspected, according to a press release from a spokeswoman for the office of Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett.Coast Guard, State Police and local authorities began searching for Cole Tuesday after receiving reports that he failed to return from a dive. The body was recovered Tuesday afternoon.The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death and the facts and circumstances leading up to his death remain under investigation, according to the press release.
