The Seacoast Mavericks (23-26) and the North Shore Navigators (22-28) each put runners in scoring position on Sunday, but the Mavericks capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 2-1 win at Leary Field.The Mavericks were led by Alex Merritt?s hitting. Merritt went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.The Navigators couldn?t get anything going as long as Andrew Schultz was pitching. Schultz held the Navigators hitless over 2.1 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.Shawn Carlson took the loss for the Navigators. He lasted five innings, walked two, struck out eight, and allowed two runs.
