Matt Sucharewicz singled in the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh as the North Shore Phillies opened the North Shore Baseball League playoffs with a 7-6 victory over the Newburyport Nationals at Breed on Sunday.The Phillies and Nationals continue the best-of-three series with game two today (6) at Groveland Pines.Sunday, Mario Padovani pitched a scoreless top of the seventh to preserve a 6-6 tie.In the bottom of the frame, player-manager Chris Carroll led off with a single to right. Chris Blydell singled up the middle and Sucharewicz hit the game-winning single on the first pitch he saw.Sucharewicz finished 4-4 with a three-run homer and a double. Blydell hit a solo homer in the bottom of the first.Cory Moore drew the start and pitched 3.2 innings.
