NAHANT – An accident near Black Rock Beach in Nahant has caused a traffic backup on the Nahant Causeway for several hundred yards near the entrance to Nahant Beach.
Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene of the accident at about 4 p.m. on Monday. Emergency medical crews used a hydraulic tool to gain access to a Honda Accord sedan and extricated the driver.
The driver, the sole occupant of the car, was believed to be conscious and alert when taken to the hospital. The car was heading southbound into Nahant at the time of the crash, police said.
