Young runners excel at youth track meet

The Lynn Summer Youth Track Meet series continued Tuesday night at Manning Field.Llono Kou of Lynn, a 16-year-old, won the mile run with a time of 6:52.3. Jamie Fulton of Quincy, 9, was second (8:05) and Kyle Kwiatek of Lynn, 8, took third (8:42).In the 200-meter overall run, Nicholas Ferrara, 13, of Saugus took first (28.6); Michael Pellino, 13, of Saugus took second (35.2) and Jamie Fulton, 9, of Quincy, took third (37.6). Kyle McKenna, 8, was the top Lynn finisher in sixth (40.7).In the 400-meter overall, John Fulton of Quincy, 7, took first (1:32.7); Olivia Martinez, Peabody, 8, took second (1:39.2) and Sabrina Armstrong, 9, of Lynn, took fourth.In the 100-meter overall run, Nicholas Ferrara of Saugus, 13, took first (14.4); Michael Pellino, 13, Saugus, took second (16.3) and Natalia Masse, 10, of Salem, took third (16.9). Sabrina Armstrong, 9, was the top Lynn female finisher, taking seventh (18.9) and Kyle McKenna, 8, was the top male finisher from Lynn (18.9). The event featured 27 runners.In the 50-meter overall run, Kaleigh Marr of Lynn, 11, took first (8.1); Natalia Masse, 10, of Salem, second, and Olivia Martinez, 8, of Peabody, third (8.5).In the 30-meter overall run, Riley Burt of Peabody (2) took first (10.5), Mia Armstrong (2) of Lynn, second (11.1) and Kaileigh Patterson (2) of Nahant, third (11.8).In the relay, Team A took first (1:22.5); Team B, second (1:26.7) and Team C, third (1:27).The final meet of the summer will be held Aug. 19 at Manning Field beginning at 6:15 p.m.
