SAUGUS — Saugus Police are asking the public for help after the alleged carjacking of an elderly man at the Stop & Shop on Main Street Tuesday morning.?Police Chief Domenic J. DiMella is urging anyone who may have witnessed the brazen carjacking of a 90-year-old man this morning to come forward with any information they may have,” Saugus Police said in a press release.Saugus Police reported responding at 8:09 a.m. Tuesday to a call of a carjacking at the Stop & Shop on Main Street, where officers found a 90-year-old man bleeding on the sidewalk. The alleged victim said he was doing his grocery shopping when he was attacked by a white man, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, with dark hair and wearing long pants, police reported.The suspect allegedly stole the elderly man’s 2001 Ford Focus, which police described as brown and with Massachusetts license plate 868NHV.Police said they are reviewing surveillance footage and any useful images will be distributed to the media.
