SAUGUS – Police have found the car allegedly stolen from a 90-year-old grocery shopper in Saugus Tuesday.Saugus Police Chief Domenic DiMella announced Wednesday morning that the 2001 brown Ford Focus that had been reported stolen in the alleged incident was found abandoned early Wednesday morning across from the Melrose Department of Public Works Yard.Police brought the car to the station where they will be conducting a full forensic review of the vehicle, which includes dusting for fingerprints. Police will also be reviewing surveillance footage from the area around the public works yard and the scene of the alleged carjacking.Saugus Police reported responding at 8:09 a.m. Tuesday to a call of a carjacking at the Stop & Shop on Main Street, where officers found a 90-year-old man bleeding on the sidewalk. The alleged victim said he was doing his grocery shopping when he was attacked by a white man, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, with dark hair and wearing long pants, police reported.The alleged victim suffered injuries in the incident but declined immediate treatment.
