CHELSEA – A Revere man who allegedly shot two men who returned to the defendant’s house after one of them had been kicked out of a party early Saturday was allowed to remain free on $1,000 cash bail he posted prior to arraignment.Robert Distefano, 77, pleaded not guilty Monday in Chelsea District Court to unlawful possession of a firearm in a home – a misdemeanor which carries no jail time.Police said a 21-year-old man was kicked out of the Oak Tree Lane home owned by Distefano after being involved in a fight at a house party. The young man allegedly returned to the home with his 55-year-old stepfather and a female, and the two men hit the home with rocks and at least one baseball bat, Suffolk District Attorney spokesman Jake Wark said in an email Monday. Distefano allegedly retrieved a dead relative’s handgun and carried it outside where another fight occurred and shots were fired. The 21-year-old and 55-year-old both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.Wark said that Distefano was allowed to remain free on $1,000 cash bail set by a bail commissioner and posted prior to arraignment.
