Police arrest three after alleged Lynn shooting

LYNN – Police arrested a Peabody man, a Salem man and a Salem woman minutes after the trio allegedly shot up a Joyce Street apartment building early Saturday morning.Nobody was injured in the incident.Ticara Cardona, 24, of 38 Boston St. #31, Salem, William Murphy, 24, of 7 Parlee St., Salem, and Yefry Cardona, 22, of 6 Harris St., Peabody, were each arrested and charged with discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building; assault with a dangerous weapon, a firearm; possession of a firearm without a firearms identification card; possession of ammunition without a firearms identification card; leaving the scene of property damage; and possession of a high-capacity feeding device for a firearm; at 2:30 a.m. Saturday.Lynn Police responded to reports of several gunshots in the area of Essex and Rockaway streets at approximately 2:26 a.m. Saturday. On arrival, officers discovered shots into an apartment building at 8 Joyce St., Lynn Police Lt. Dave Brown wrote in an email. Brown said nobody was injured in the shooting. Police learned the occupants of a gray SUV were allegedly involved in the incident and that the SUV had fled on Essex Street toward Swampscott, Brown reported. Police broadcast the information to city and Swampscott officers, and Swampscott Police stopped the suspected vehicle on Essex Street in Swampscott, police said.A joint Swampscott and Lynn Police investigation subsequently resulted in the arrests.Yefry Cardona and Murphy were taken to Middleton Jail and are expected to be arraigned in Lynn District Court today. Ticara Cardona was held at Lynn Police headquarters and is also expected to be arraigned today in Lynn District Court.
