LYNN – A judge ordered a Boston man held without bail after police said the man threw his pregnant partner around her apartment a week after the defendant allegedly strangled her.Tyrone A. Puckett, 29, of 142 Harrison Archway #4216, pleaded not guilty Thursday in Lynn District Court to charges in two cases. Puckett is charged with assault and battery on a family/household member; and strangulation or suffocation of a pregnant victim; from an alleged incident on Aug. 25. He is also charged with assault and battery on a pregnant person; larceny +$250; and malicious destruction of property -$250; stemming from an alleged incident on Monday.Police responded at 9:10 p.m. Aug. 25 to an apartment on the 100 block of Green Street where the alleged victim said Puckett dragged her into the bedroom, slapped her across the face and then punched her on the top of the head, Lynn Police Officer Paul Scali wrote in a report.Puckett then allegedly grabbed the woman’s neck and choked her for about five seconds until she was able to break free. Puckett then allegedly fled. Police reported they did not see any marks “consistent with physical abuse due to the dark complexion” of the alleged victim. The alleged victim told officers she did not want to seek a restraining order, and officers reported they would seek a warrant for Puckett, according to court documents.Officers returned to the apartment at 9:30 p.m. a week later, Lynn Police Officer Paul Wonoski reported.Police said the same alleged victim, who noted in this report that she was in her first trimester of pregnancy, reported Puckett returned unannounced and they began arguing. Puckett allegedly smashed the television and a wireless box, then allegedly grabbed her and threw her around the bedroom.”She stated he did this a couple of times before she started yelling for her father to call the police,” Wonoski reported.Puckett allegedly took the woman’s phone and left the apartment.Essex Assistant District Attorney Erin Bellavia requested Thursday that Puckett be held without bail pending a dangerous hearing when the alleged victim could testify. Judge James LaMothe found probable cause for the request and ordered Puckett held pending a hearing on Tuesday.
