‘Belongs to Dixie’ makes a late run for impressive win.

Belongs to Dixie made a bold late rally under Chelsey Keiser to win Monday?s featured allowance race, competing about one mile in 1:43 4/5 on a firm turf course.Trained by Joe Signore, Jr., the seven-year-old daughter of Belong to Me settled off the pace set by Gee Whiz. She made her move from the middle of the track and prevailed by two-lengths over Darn Proud. It was her second victory of the year.Belongs to Dixie returned $5.60, 2.80 and 2.20. Darn Proud paid $3.00 and 2.20 while Major Masabi returned $2.40.uChaotic Bull prevailed by half a length in a hard fought battle over On Lockdown to win Wednesday?s featured race, completing a mile and seventy yards in 1:43 3/5.After a torrid pace set by Twocubanbrothersu and Bellamy Storm, Chaotic Bull and Gary Wales rated off the pace and launched their bid from the middle of the track at the top of the stretch. On Lockdown had rallied up the rail and those two hooked up in deep stretch, dueling down to the wire with Chaotic Bull pulling off the win to earn his ninth career victory.Trained and owned by William Spathanas, the six-year-old gelded son of Holy Bull returned $6.60, 3.60 and 2.80. On Lockdown paid $3.40 and 2.40 while Bellamy Storm returned $4.00.uThis Saturday at Suffolk Downs, a field of eight Massachusetts-bred three-year-olds will compete in the $25,000 John Kirby Stakes. The race will be run at a mile and seventy yards on the main track.Tim Kirby, the son of John Kirby for whom the race is named, will saddle his homebred filly, Sultan?s Princess. A daughter of Sultan?s Prince, she will have Gary Wales in the irons as she goes for her second stakes victory. She broke her maiden in the Louise Kimball Stakes in August and was third against male rivals in the African Prince Stakes. She has been tabbed at odds of 9-2.The morning line favorite at odds of 8-5 is Bobby J?s Rush for trainer William Sienkewicz. The three-year-old gelding won the African Prince Stakes in his most recent start. Dyn Panell will be in the irons of the homebred son of Lycius for Black Rushin?
