BOSTON ? Twenty-two years after her daughter’s murder, the mother of Susan Taraskiewicz has released a video urging anyone with information on the killing to come forward.?Come forth, say something, help solve this murder; get justice for Susan,” Marlene Taraskiewicz, of Saugus, said in a video released by Massachusetts State Police. “Our family not only lost Susan but our family was destroyed. And it isn’t right, no, it’s not right. Susan didn’t deserve it.”Early on the morning of Sunday, Sept. 13, 1992, Susan Taraskiewicz, 27, took a break from her job at Northwest Airlines at Logan Airport to pick up sandwiches for her coworkers. She never returned to work or to her family’s home in Saugus. The next day, Susan’s body was found in the trunk of her car, which was parked at an auto body shop on Route 1A in Revere. She had been murdered. The death remains unsolved.Police noted that at the time of Susan’s murder, a group of Northwest employees (not including Susan) were involved in a credit card theft ring. Male coworkers were also targeting Susan with frequent sexual harassment.Marlene Taraskiewicz said Susan thought she was being harassed because she protested when she was initially passed over for a supervisor job in favor of a less-qualified man. Susan fought for three years and won the job plus back pay.But Marlene Taraskiewicz said she believes the alleged harassment and homicide were related to that ring.?The starter of that whole thing, the prime person who started (the ring), was harassing her along with the other employees, and they thought she knew about it,” Marlene Taraskiewicz said in the video. “Not only did they have a female as a boss, but having this credit card scam, they didn’t have much leeway to do things that they wanted to. I believe this is why Susan got murdered.”Marlene Taraskiewicz urged Northwest employees, who she believes have kept quiet about the incident for years, to come forward.?Please, come forth, it’s not too late, it’s never late to solve a murder,” Marlene Taraskiewicz said. “If you know who did it, if you have any ideas, or heard anything, pick up that phone, call the State Police.”State Police said “the facts and circumstances of Susan’s brutal killing, including whether it was connected to people involved in the credit card thefts and sexual harassment or to other individuals, remains under active investigation by the Suffolk County District Attorney, the Massachusetts State Police, and the Revere Police.”And State Police urged that “anyone with information, regardless of their current situation or circumstance,” contact the State Police Detective Unit for Suffolk County at 617-727-8817.The video can be viewed on the Massachusetts State Police YouTube channel and can also be accessed through @MassStatePolice on Twitter, the Massachusetts State Police Facebook page, or through the State Police news blog, www.mspnews.org.?They don’t just take your child, they take your life, they take your family, they take your dreams,” Marlene Taraskiewicz said. “And that’s why you need justice.”
