The Classical boys soccer team had to come from behind twice, but in the end, the Rams returned home with a 3-2 win over Marblehead at Marblehead.Marblehead took a 1-0 lead early on a goal by Liam Healy, but Classical?s Abitalib Girdia tied things up on his first of three goals. The Magicians came back to take a 2-1 lead (Healy again) with about 10 minutes left in the half, but Girdia put two more in in the second half for the win.?He?s really doing well,” Classical coach Rob Upton said about Girdia, who moved from the midfield to forward and has been finding the net consistently. “It?s not like he?s dribbling through an entire team. The guys are working hard to build up the attack and get the ball to the right place. He?s in the right place and finishing for us.”Strati Saranteas had a busy afternoon in net for the Rams (5-1).?It was a very exciting game,” Marblehead coach Scott Laramie said, adding that Jamie Marden and Chris Brady did a nice job on defense for the Magicians. Nate Witherell was in net.Shawsheen 3, Tech 0At Shawsheen, the Tigers fell behind 2-0 in the first half, and could never fully recover. Salem scored the game-winner with eight minutes left in the game, when Dalvin Alexandre scored. Daniel Russell and Alejandro Smart scored one goal apiece for Salem.Revere 4, Gloucester 1At Revere, the Patriots scored the lone goal in a rather quiet first half against the Fishermen. The Revere offense caught fire in the second half, as the Patriots outscored the Fishermen 3-1 in the half.KIPP 4, Pacific Rim 1At Hyde Park, the Panthers remain undefeated at 3-0-2 with junior Charlie Huffman having a very productive afternoon with three goals. He now has seven goals in five games. The Panthers also had a goal from senior captain Jesse Giron. Mustapha Trawalley, Victor Maurico, Diego Martinez and Rufy Matos all had assists. Freshman Micah Rucker had a stellar game in his debut.Danvers 6, English 0At Manning Field, the Bulldogs (0-7) trailed 3-0 at the end of the first half, and could never get back into the game.
