English allowed the Tanners to amass 505 yards of total offense, 418 on the ground.It wasn?t as if the Bulldogs didn?t move the ball. They ran for 112 yards and quarterback Lucas Harris passed for 115. But, as coach Peter Holey said, “we always seemed to be a play away from scoring.”Wakefield also played its first game of the season, at home, last Friday night, losing to Lexington, 35-27, in a slugfest. The Bulldogs will have to watch out for running back Martin Sy, who ran for 217 yards on 43 carries.The Bulldogs lost at Wakefield last year, 33-7.Triton at SaugusAt Stackpole Field (4), if ever a team deserved a win last week, it was the Sachems, who rebounded admirably from their season-opening heartbreaking loss to Winthrop.Last week, Saugus traveled to Northeast Regional and defeated the Golden Knights, 36-16, after trailing at the half by two (16-14).Once again, running back Dan Cacciola proved to be a force for the Sachems, rushing for 190 yards. Add that to his 381-yard performance a week earlier against the Vikings, and Cacciola is the early rushing leader in the area.The Triton Vikings are off to a fast start with wins over Swampscott (15-0 two weeks ago) and Amesbury (43-6 last week).Last week, Luke Boyle rushed for three touchdowns and 180 yards to lead the Vikings.
