The Swampscott High girls cross country team defeated Danvers and Winthrop Thursday at Swampscott to keep its undefeated record intact.The Big Blue (3-0, 2-0 NEC Small) defeated Winthrop, 15-50, and Danvers, 15-48. Swampscott had the top five runners against both teams, led by Isabella Kornitsky (18:04); Veronica Rizzo (19:24); Miranda Nocera (19:36); Vivien Gere (19:49) and Charlotte Westhoven (20:10).? Our girls are learning how to race and worked well together today. It?s nice to see Isabella back out front, and with continued focus the girls can tighten the gap between each other,” coach Jeff Bartlett said.Marblehead 25, Gloucester 34At Gatchell Park in Marblehead, Gloucester?s Carly Curcureu took the top spot with a 20:02, but the Magicians (2-0) had the depth.
