Bobby J’s Rush rolled victory in the $25,000 John Kirby Stakes on Saturday at Suffolk Downs, completing a mile and seventy in 1:44 3/5.Bobby J’s Rush, a homebred for Black Rushin’ Farm trained by William Sienkewicz, broke sharply and dueled with stakes winner Pete. Under Dyn Panell, he put away that rival at the top of the stretch and drew off by 8 1/4 lengths to earn his third career victory and second consecutive stakes win.Bobby J’s Rush returned $2.60, 2.40 and 2.10. Pete held on for second and paid $4.00 and 3.20 while Malibu Ice returned $5.40.uVernon Bush dominated Monday’s nine race card with three winners for his second consecutive three-win day after also notching three wins on Saturday.He began his winning day in the fourth race with Knute ($14.40) for Miles Heinen. In the fifth race, he teamed up with Jay Bernardini for the barn’s second winner of the day with Dot Those Eyes ($19.60).In the seventh race, he guided Mr Watanabe Too ($3.40) to an allowance victory for Ron Casey.Bush is currently fourth in the jockey standings with 40 victories.uToday at Suffolk Downs, the featured race is a maiden special weight for two-year-olds, the second race of the season for juveniles.Tabbed as the morning line favorite at odds of 7-2 is Seventyseven Ilene, one of three fillies in the race taking on male rivals. She was second in her debut behind the highly regarded Morning Tale. Trained by Joseph Minieri, she will have Tammi Piermarini aboard.Also in the field is Fond of Sarah, a first-time starter bred and owned by trainer Charles Assimakopoulos. She will have James Vail in the irons for her first start and is second choice at morning line odds of 3-1.
