It was a nice homecoming of sorts for St. Mary’s coach Mike D’Agostino who saw his team defeat Salem, 3-1, Friday at Bertram Field.D’Agostino coached the Witches before coming to St. Mary’s six years ago. This is the first time since then the two teams have played each other. The win extends the Spartans winning streak to seven games (they haven’t lost since the played Classical in the Lynn City Tournament).”For a small Division 4 school we’re playing well,” D’Agostino said. “I’m very pleased with the way the offense has been putting the ball in the net.”St. Mary’s led 2-0 at the half on goals by Cristian Chavez (Noah Camelo assist) and Olusha George, who scored off a corner. There were also some close calls, with at least one ringing off the post.
