LYNNFIELD – Since its opening last August, MarketStreet Lynnfield is now home to 63 businesses and counting.Gap, Nike, a restaurant from The Aquitaine Group, Charming Charlie and Wahlburgers are among the 10 establishments expected to arrive throughout 2015.In addition, Charles Schwab brokerage opened earlier this month while Soft Surroundings, Solstice Power Yoga and Temazcal Tequila Cantina will be added in October.MarketStreet General Manager Nanci Horn explained that this is the second and final phase of the original development plan for the open-air mall. The 90,000-square-foot retail space on the northern end of the complex was available without having to purchase additional property. With more parking being put in, Horn does not anticipate any traffic bottlenecks, even during the holiday season. She explained that by now, most customers know where parking is available.”There will be very ample retail parking,” she said.In terms of attracting tenants, Horn said that some companies have responded to requests from the leasing office asking them to consider opening in Lynnfield.”The leasing department is a very dynamic department that matches the retailers with what the market enjoys,” said Horn. “They’re very knowledgeable about the up and coming retailers.”However, other companies have done the opposite, asking if space was available.”It was a little of both,” said Horn. “This was a fantastic option for them.”She said that competition has not been a concern so far, as many of the current stores have done well and are delighted about the arrival of their new neighbors.”They play off each other,” said Horn. She added that while the new stores may draw a more upscale clientele, she is confident that the bulk of the customer base will only increase rather than change.Jessica Conick, public relations specialist for women’s beauty boutique Soft Surroundings, said the new MarketStreet location will be the first one on the North Shore with the opening date slated for Oct. 17.However, Danny Broody, vice president of retail stores, said that Soft Surroundings is no stranger to this market.”MarketStreet is our third store in the Boston market,” he said. “Our customers have welcomed us with open arms, and we are so excited to be bringing yet another location to this area.”Broody explained that the new store will be the company’s 16th location overall as part of a six-store expansion initiative for 2014.Conick added that she is impressed with the company’s growth in the Bay State.”We’ve expanded more in the Greater Boston area than in any other area nationwide,” she said. She explained that the MarketStreet store will offer the company’s women’s clothing line and gift and beauty items, as well as French-inspired furnishings and decor.Conick pointed out that free beauty events will be held on a regular basis with a resident beauty specialist. The three owners of Boston restaurant company The Aquitaine Group have also expressed their enthusiasm for Lynnfield.”Currently, we are engaged with architect Peter Niemitz and WS Development to create a unique environment that we think will fill a significant void in this part of the Greater Boston market, said co-owner Jeffrey Gates.David Puopolo, branch manager of Charles Schwab, said he is pleased with the company’s decision to open its fifth location at MarketStreet.Referring to the complex as a “lifestyle destination,” Puopolo pointed out that the financial services offered by Charles Schwab should be an integral part of people’s lives.”We’ve gotten an extremely warm welcome and are thrilled to be part of the MarketStreet Lynnfield shopping center,” he said. “Schwab has been an advocate for the individual investor since its founding, and our branch is proud to play that role for the residents of Boston’s northern suburbs.”
