Cross Country: Classical boys run past Revere, Medford

The Classical High boys cross country team had a productive afternoon, picking up wins over Revere and Medford in a tri-meet at Revere.The Rams defeated Revere, 21-38, and topped the Mustangs, 21-36.?It was a great race and a couple of big wins for our team,” Classical coach Cori Russo said.Thomas Mackin continues to be a bright light for the Rams this season. He took first place overall with a time of 16:11. Gilley Kambamba took third (17:19) and Eric Macorri, fourth (17:34).The Rams are 3-3.Peabody 15, English 50At Lynn Woods, the Tanners took the first nine spots with English?s Kevin Francisco taking 10th with a 20:40. The Bulldogs are 0-4.Marblehead 19, Danvers 44At Marblehead, Andrew Ernst was first overall in 16:19. Teammate Adam Linsky was third (17:24) and Hillman Hollister was fourth (17:35).SJP 15, CM 45At Bradley Palmer State Park in Ipswich, the Eagles (1-2) got into the win column as they swept the top five places. Taking first overall was John Raposa in 17:33 with Luke Bugler in second and Mac Bissaillon third in identical times of 17:57.GIRLS CROSS COUNTRYRevere 16, Classical 47At Revere, the Patriots (5-1) cruised to victory as Vanessa Pupolo was first overall in 20:44. Also having solid runs for Revere were Hannah Fitzpatrick (21:09); Suellen Guerrero (21:11); Jaclynne Dion (21:31) and Hayley Mangino (23:04).Classical?s Laurie Rodriguez came in seventh with a time of 21:35.Marblehead 15, Danvers 50At Marblehead, the Magicians (3-1) swept the top seven places against the visiting Falcons. Taking first overall was Maura Honan in 21:02. Second place went to Jillian King (21:19) and Anna Barrell took third (21:25). Anna Hecht was fourth (21:55) and Emily Kaufman rounded out the top five (22:32).
