The Winthrop and Marblehead High football teams both won big Thursday night to remain undefeated at 4-0 and 5-0, respectively.The Vikings defeated Salem, 35-14, after spotting the Witches a touchdown early in the first quarter. Salem?s Joel Nunez scored on a 47-yard return on an interception, but it was all Winthrop the rest of the way.Jake Chudina (2 touchdowns, 80 yards rushing) scored from the 1-yard line, as did Reise Turransky (133 yards rushing, 1 touchdown) and Dylan Driscoll. Jonathan Gonzalez took it in from four yards out and the Vikings led 28-6 at the half.Winthrop struck again in the second half when Driscoll hit Chudina with a 37-yard touchdown pass. The Witches got one back on a 4-yard run by Genrri Rosario with Nunez scoring on the conversion.Bailey Skeffington, a defensive end, had five tackles and five assists for Salem as well as a fumble recovery.Salem is 0-4.M?head 35, Gloucester 12At Gloucester, Marblehead?s Brooks Tyrrell ran for three touchdowns and caught a pass for a fourth to help the Magicians maintain their perfect record. Spencer Craig ran for a touchdown and threw for one and Will Millett rushed for over 100 yards for the fifth consecutive week.
