LYNN – Police said they are investigating a reported stabbing last week where the alleged victim drove himself to Union Hospital and then was taken to a hospital in Boston.Police went to Union Hospital at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday night where a 46-year-old city man told officers he had just been stabbed while on Bulfinch Street near the intersection of Boston Street.The man was being treated for a wound to the chest and could not provide officers with additional information, according to Lynn Police Lt. Rick Donnelly. Police said a group of the alleged victim’s friends told officers that the alleged victim had called them and said that he had been stabbed and was driving himself to the hospital. The alleged victim’s vehicle was parked in the hospital lot and police reported a large amount of blood on the driver’s side door and seat.The man was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.Lt. Dave Brown said Sunday that the alleged victim had non-life-threatening injuries and the incident remains under investigation.
