The Classical High boys soccer team is heading to the postseason thanks to a 3-1 win over Salem Tuesday at Bertram Field. This is the fourth year in row the Rams have qualified under coach Rob Upton, but the streak dates back at least six years.?This year?s senior class has been to the tournament all four years,” Upton said. “They deserve a lot of credit getting the program to where it is, where we?re consistently making the tournament. It?s not easy to get there. It?s a nice accomplishment for the program.”The game was tied 1-1 at the half with Abitalib Girdia scoring for the Rams and AlejandroSmart launching a rocket from 35 yards out for the Witches. Dominque Panmo scored the game winner with Girdia (10 goals) adding a little insurance with his second of the night. Strati Saranteas took care of business in net.The Rams (9-6-1) play English Thursday and finish with Everett on Monday. Salem (6-9-1) needs three more win to qualify for the tournament with Beverly, St. Mary?s and Danvers on tap.Danvers 0, Marblehead 0At Marblehead, both teams had their opportunities, but no one found the back of the net. Center halfback Chris Colcord and stopper Mack Fisher played well for the Magicians, who at 7-7-2 still need four more points to qualify for the state tournament. They have Swampscott Thursday, a makeup with Saugus on Saturday and Tech and Beverly next Monday and Wednesday.Tech 4, Minuteman 2At Lexington, the Tigers (3-10-3) have struggled offensively this season, but it all came together against Minutemen. Santiago Zuluaga scored the Tigers first goal and then assisted on one by Carlos Perez. Domenic Turilli made it 3-0 Tigers when he nailed a penalty kick. The Minutemen got two back before Rosai Palmer scored the final goal for Tech. Tyler Beliveau got the win.?It was good to see the offense come alive,” Tech coach Fred Day said. “We?ve struggled scoring all year.”Peabody 1, Beverly 1At Beverly, just like the first game between the two teams, this one ended deadlocked.Ben Manoogian gave Peabody a lead at the 14:00 mark, assisted by Connor Wolf, but the Panthers tied the game with 10 minutes left on a goal by Nathaniel Pittamiglio.Peabody is 12-0-2 in the Northeastern Conference, 13-1-2 overall.
