Saugus Police Tuesday announced the launch of a new website and new ways for the public to communicate with residents.?It is important that we deliver information to our citizens and give them tools to communicate with us using well-established and emerging technologies,” Saugus Police Chief Domenic DiMella said. “These newly implemented systems, along with the new website, will allow Saugus residents and business owners more opportunities to communicate with the department, while making it easier for our department to reach out to them.”The new website, www.sauguspd.com, has a news blog, police forms available for download, a way to pay fees and fines online, and a department roster with contact information for every officer, according to the release.Police are also starting BlackBoard Connect, a mass communication tool that can send emails, text messages, voicemails and instantly update Facebook and Twitter to alert citizens in an emergency. Residents may log in at https://townofsauguswebportal.bbcportal.com to ensure their information is correct and updated.Users may also sign up for Nixle, which delivers text messages on information such as local parking bans, scams reported in the area and traffic updates.
