LYNN – A city teen who allegedly held up and robbed four younger teens Saturday was ordered confined to his home and to a social-service program after a defense attorney said his client had been found incompetent to stand trial on previous charges.Bochuven Pich, 19, of 47 Autumn St. #2, pleaded not guilty Monday in Lynn District Court to three counts of armed robbery; disorderly conduct; resisting arrest; assault and battery; and three counts of threat to commit murder.Police reported responding to a Sheridan Street home late Sunday night where three teens (and a fourth alleged victim who refused to cooperate with police) said they had been robbed while on Adams Street Extension. They described the suspect as an intoxicated, young Cambodian male with some facial hair who was wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts, police reported. The youths said the suspect approached and tried to fight them before trying to go through one of the alleged victim’s pockets, Lynn Police Officer Sadrak Pierre wrote in a report. The suspect then demanded money and allegedly put his hands in his pockets as if holding something.”The Asian male stated to the four victims ?give me your money, what’s you got, do you want me to pull on you? I’m in the Crip gang, I got a gun and I will shoot you,'” Pierre reported the youths told him.One of the youths allegedly handed over a cell phone charger and a Patriots cup with incense in it and then took off running. As another alleged victim tried to run and call police, Pich allegedly caught him, took his cell phone and punched him in the face multiple times.Police found a man matching the suspect description among a large group and noted the suspect, later identified as Pich, smelled of alcohol, was unsteady on his feet, and had slurred speech, Officer Jeffrey Trahant reported. The crowd was “hostile” and began filming the officers, accusing them of trespassing, and “tried to interfere” as officers led Pich aside and tried to question him, police also reported.Pich allegedly then jumped up from the curb where he was seated and started running, eventually falling in the middle of Tracy Avenue. His subsequent yells prompted residents to look out their windows and stopped traffic, police reported. Pich also began crying “Royal!” and for his mother, police noted. Two of the alleged victims positively identified Pich as the person who had robbed them.Essex Assistant District Attorney Justin Edwards requested Pich be held on $25,000 cash bail and that the defendant’s bail in an open case be revoked. But defense attorney Lincoln Loring said Pich had been hit by a truck at age 7 and met with Catholic Charities five days a week because of his resulting brain injury. Loring also said Pich had been found incompetent to stand trial in an existing adult case and had a competency hearing pending in an open juvenile case.”I ask you not to revoke bail on a case he has already been found incompetent,” Loring said.Judge Mary McCabe ordered Pich held without bail until a GPS bracelet was available that would confine the defendant to his home and to Catholic Charities. McCabe also ordered the defendant use no drugs or alcohol and undergo a medical evaluation.Pich is scheduled to return to Lynn District Court today to be outfitted with the bracelet.
