LYNN ? The Department of Public Works was kept busy Wednesday night after high winds uprooted a plethora of trees across the city.The most significant incident occurred on Cedardale Avenue, where at approximately 7:30 p.m. a tree branch fell on an electrical wire, which set off a transformer fire and resulted in a power outage, according to Lynn Police Lt. Lucas Dean.At 287 Maple St., between Chestnut Street and Western Avenue, a tree was uprooted and fell across the road at approximately 8 p.m., causing the street to be closed for more than three hours, until the DPW could clear the debris. Lynn Police also reported a pole down at Western Avenue and Franklin Street.As of 10 p.m., there were at least 20 reports of fallen trees or branches, according to Lynn Police. There were no injuries reported.
