PEABODY ? Police are asking the public for help identifying a man considered a person of interest in an armed robbery at a local gas station earlier this month.The Ampet Gas Station on Lowell Street was robbed at knifepoint Oct. 12.Video surveillance from another day shows a man police have described as “a person of interest who may potentially be able to provide information” regarding the robbery, according to a Peabody Police press release. Police describe the individual as a male approximately 30 years old and measuring about 6 feet tall. The man has a bald spot on the crown of his head and was wearing sunglasses on the top of his head, police said.The man is believed to have left the store in a mid-sized SUV that is either tan or silver and has a possible Massachusetts license plate beginning with 77, according to police.Police ask anyone with information regarding this individual and/or case to contact either Detective Gilroy or Detective Lane at 978-531-1226.
