The St. Mary’s boys soccer team kept its unbeaten string going Saturday afternoon at Manning Field as they ran it to 15 in a row with a 2-0 victory over Salem in a non-league battle.The Spartans (13-1-2) got goals from Olushola George and Noah Camelo while keeper Erik Whitcomb turned in another shutout. St. Mary’s can clinch the CCL Large title tomorrow with a win over Cardinal Spellman before the Spartans close the season out on Wednesday against Saugus.Gr. Lawrence 1, Tech 0At Manning Field, the Tigers got an outstanding game in goal from Tyler Beliveau but it wasn’t enough as the visitors scored early in the first half and made the goal stand up.Lynnfield 2, Swampscott 0At Lynnfield, the Pioneers (10-2-5) moved closer towards clinching at least one home game in the upcoming state tournament as they scored once in each half to eliminate the Big Blue (6-10-1) from tournament contention.Ethan Forrest scored midway through the first half for Lynnfield with Cooper Jablonka adding the insurance goal midway into the second half. Senior Andrew Moorman got the shutout on senior day.Swampscott keeper Will Green made eight stops while midfielders Jack Dennehy and Mike Coffey also played well.”This has been a great turnaround for us this season,” Lynnfield coach Brent Munroe said. “The kids have really played well.”Silver Lake 3, St. John’s 2At Danvers, the Eagles (13-1-3) were dealt their first loss of the season but to a Division 1 EMass finalist from a year ago. The Prep trailed 1-0 early but rallied to take a 2-1 lead at the break on goals from Max Costa and Patrick Foley. The visitors, however, scored on a penalty kick to tie it and then got the winner with 20 minutes left.The Eagles have one game left and it’s a big one when they take on defending Division 2 champion Masconomet Wednesday (3:45) in Topsfield.GIRLS SOCCERLynnfield 2, Wayland 0At Wayland, the Pioneers (12-4-2) capped their season with a big win over a potential opponent in the upcoming Division 3 North tournament.Lynnfield did all of its damage in the first half as Jess Duhaime scored on a breakaway in the 14th minute, assisted by Emily Scollard. Hannah Scollard then doubled the lead in the 32nd minute, set up by Paige MacEachern. Keeper Hannah Travers had to make only one save as the Pioneers defense controlled most of the game.
