LYNN ? Vice President Joseph Biden will be in Lynn Wednesday to campaign for 6th Congressional District candidate Seth Moulton in a Get Out The Vote rally at the Lynn YMCA. The vice president is expected to arrive at approximately 3:15 p.m.There will be YMCA members in attendance, including Amanda Mena, the singing sensation who won the “La Voz Kids” competition on the Telemundo network this summer. Mena will perform at the event, according to a Moulton representative.Moulton, who unseated incumbent John Tierney in the Democratic primary, is locked in a tight race with Republican candidate Richard Tisei. Independent Chris Stockwell is also running.Longtime Biden political supporter and local attorney Richard L.Vitali said getting Biden’s help was an early Moulton campaign goal.?I was approached by (former mayor Thomas P.) Costin to see if Biden or his son Beau could come ? I passed it along to the vice president’s people,” Vitali said.Vitali said Biden can link Moulton ? a political newcomer facing former state legislator and 2012 congressional candidate Tisei in the Nov. 4 final election ? to Democratic values and compare Moulton’s election bid with other Democratic races across the country.?He recognizes a new face like Seth Moulton’s is worth calling attention to ? it’s super significant,” Vitali said.Tisei’s spokesman Charlie Szold in a statement Monday branded Biden “a career politician.”?Seth Moulton is relying on everyone but the voters of the 6th District to try and win this election,” Szold said.Vitali said Biden’s Wednesday appearance may not be his last trip to Lynn or the Boston area.?I think he’s interested in running for president,” he said.
