Reardon, Fanikos grab top Cape Ann honors

The Lynnfield High field hockey team was well represented on the Cape Ann League field hockey all-star team.Senior Bailey Fanikos, who will be playing Division 1 field hockey for the University of Virginia next year, was named the CAL Baker Division Player of the Year and was named to the CAL First Team. Mamie Reardon, the Lynnfield High coach for the past 32 years, took home Baker Division Coach of the Year honors.In addition to Fanikos, Lauren Guerra, a senior back, and Alison Lyle, also a senior back, were named First Team while senior forward Stafania DeAngelis and sophomore sweeper Lilli Patterson were named to the CAL All-Star Second Team.Donna Anderson of Triton was named CAL Kinney Division Coach of the Year and Erin Savage, also of Triton, was named CAL Kinney Division Player of the Year. Pentucket and Rockport both received Sportsmanship Awards.uIn golf, the Pioneers had two players named to the Cape Ann League All-Star team. Nick Eliopoulos was named First Team and John Percoskie, Second Team.Ben Bidet of Manchester-Essex was named the CAL Baker Division Golfer of the Year and Krystal Knight of Pentucket was named Kinney Division Golfer of the Year. George Dodier, Amesbury, received Baker Division Coach of the Year and Bill Curley, Hamilton-Wenham, was named Kinney Division Coach of the Year. Amesbury won the Baker Division and Hamilton-Wenham shared the Kinney Division title with Triton.uSenior Owen Picariello of Marblehead and junior Ryan Anderson of Beverly were named Northeastern Conference golf Players of the Year while Jim Keating, Marblehead, took home Coach of the Year. Revere received the Sportsmanship Award.The NEC All-Star team also includes English High sophomore Chris Cole; senior Jay Cub Lever of Saugus; senior Jake Hempel of Marblehead; senior Steve Ferrante of Peabody; juniors Wes Milbury and Christian McKenna of Danvers; senior Mike Rich, Winthrop; senior Ted Leathersich, Beverly, and senior Kyle Doherty, Salem.Honorable Mention went to Classical seniors Mark Brazell and Kyle Morrill; English High seniors Matt Sencabaugh and Bubba Comeau; Nick Dame (senior), Joe Ghika (junior) Nick Moore (sophomore) and Eric Guarino (sophomore) of Saugus; senior Anthony Springthorpe, junior Corey Bleau and sophomore Andrew Dove, Swampscott; senior Jake Kramer and senior Bryan Cohn, Marblehead; junior Maxx Anderson, Revere; Madison Ballou (senior); Cam Fraser (junior); Cam Twomey (sophomore) and Wes Schaejbe (sophomore), Salem; Matt Correale (senior); Ted Izzo (junior) and Steve Goggin (senior) of Peabody; Jack Wallace (sophomore) and Cody Boudrow (senior) of Winthrop; Sarah Daley (senior) of Beverly; Mike Plansky (junior) and Eric Powers (senior) of Danvers; and Devon Murray (senior) of Gloucester.
