LYNN – Local and state police have been searching the area for a 25-year-old Swampscott woman whose family reported her missing on Saturday.Jaimee Mendez, 25, of Swampscott was reported missing at 3:47 p.m. Saturday, a spokesman for Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett said Sunday evening.Swampscott, Lynn and Salem Police and the State Police Airwing are taking part in the investigation, as well as police assigned to the district attorney’s office, according to spokesman Steve O’Connell, who declined further comment, citing the ongoing investigation.A Swampscott Police representative could not be reached for comment, and Lynn Police referred questions to Swampscott.However, WCVB reported that the woman’s sister said Mendez was last seen Thursday in the company of a man.In action believed to be connection with the case, police searched a Salem office park and established a crime scene around a dumpster behind CVS Pharmacy on Eastern Avenue in Lynn, WCVB reported.
