LYNN – The Lynn Housing Authority & Neighborhood Development (LHAND), in partnership with Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy and MassHousing, held a Meet the Lynn Lenders event on Nov. 6. The event connected first-time homebuyers with regional banks and credits unions to get information and meaningful advice.”There is never a more exciting, and sometimes overwhelming, step than purchasing your first home,” said Kennedy. “It’s wonderful to be able to connect our city’s first-time homebuyers with knowledgeable lenders to guide them through the process.”The event, which garnered meaningful interest from local lending institutions, featured 10 lenders in addition to MassHousing and the Mass Housing Partnership (MHP). About 20 Lynn residents attended.”We had a great response from the lenders throughout our community who are eager to meet and help first-time homebuyers,” said LHAND Executive Director Charles Gaeta. “This partnership provides an excellent opportunity to increase informed and responsible home ownership in the City of Lynn.””We strive to attract and retain responsible homeowners in the city and this private-public partnership will be a great benefit to first-time homebuyers,” said Lynn City Council President Daniel Cahill.
