Police on hunt for Lynn murder suspect

LYNN – Police are asking the public for help finding the suspect in the murder of a 35-year-old man Saturday morning. Authorities said the suspect is armed and dangerous.State Police assigned to the Essex District Attorney’s Office and Lynn Police are looking for Nelson J. Rodriguez, 35, of Lowell, in connection with a fatal shooting early Saturday morning on Sagamore Street.Authorities have not identified the victim, a Lynn resident, pending notification of the family.Police responded at approximately 1:18 a.m. Saturday to the Harbor View Apartments at 80 Sagamore St. after receiving a 911 call reporting shots fired. Police said a 35-year-old man was found outside the building and had been shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Carrie Kimball-Monahan, a spokeswoman for Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett.Blodgett’s office released the identity of the suspect Sunday afternoon. Nelson is also known as Abismael Xxxgerena, 31, of Lawrence. The suspect is 5 feet 11 inches and is armed and dangerous, according to police.Anybody with information about the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to contact Lynn Police at 781-595-2000.
