The St. Mary’s High boys soccer celebrated the end of a successful season at its break-up banquet on Nov. 25.The Spartans had one of their best seasons in recent years, winning the Catholic Central League title, finishing 17-2-2 overall and making it to the Division 4 North final where they lost to Manchester-Essex in penalty kicks. St. Mary’s was the top seed in the division.Coach Mike D’Agostino recorded his 100th career win and was named the Eastern Mass Division 4 coach of the year.Cristian Chavez and Noah Camelo were named the team?s most valuable players, while Chavez was named the best offensive player. Patrick Morin-Plante was named best defensive player; ; Donald Weisse, most improved; Christian Couillard, hustle award; Daniel Montoya, unsung hero; Zach Stueve, Spartan award-alumni; andErik Whitcomb, players and coaches award.Kevin Esper received the Kevin Roach memorial scholarship. Chavez, Camelo, Esper, Plante, Montoya and Whitcomb were named to the CCL All-Star team.Junior varsity players receiving awards include Matt Connolly, best offensive player; Jose Del Valle, best defensive player; Daniel Taborda, most improved; Thiago DeOliveira, most valuable Player; and Michael Carroll, coaches award.
